St Marina

I am currently working on a new commission for Dr Murphy. I am incorporating more iconography and have learned a little about St Marina of Antioch. Like most good Catholic martyrs, she has her own My Space site. Check her out at:-

Lost Images

Paul sent me these images from holiday last year. I cannot believe I wandered around shops - topless. Evidently I have no shame whilst on holiday!

The Story So Far....

After a lapse the other week I was really pleased to have two weeks of weight loss again. As you can see from the picture I have, so far, lost 1 stone 4 pounds. I also appear to have grown an inch, but sadly not where it might have been useful.

SGB

Finally, a picture of Sean that he might approve of. Cute, huh. This was taken when he featured in Attitude magazine last year. It wasn't the naked issue.

Work, Rest & Play

OK – so it’s been ages since my last blog and I don’t seem to be able to write my life up as quickly as I live it. So I have been very busy over the last few weeks but I should be able to write about it a little. Sean says I should write less and more often and whilst that’s a good idea in theory, I am having difficulty putting it into practice. To be honest, there are rarely times when I am sat in front of my computer when I don’t have loads of real work to do.

I did not go away for a holiday this month, which was a big disappointment for me. Ever since I left Fox I have been going on a proper holiday in May and I cannot say that I didn’t miss it. That said, I did have a whale of a time and I got to see Sean about five days out of seven. At the other end of the scale I resigned myself to taking on extra work during my holiday and busy though I was, I actually had rather a nice time.

When it was time to return to work - a two-day week thanks to the Bank Holiday.

Oh Dear!

Thanks to late nights, too much booze and a drop in my excercise regime and I ahve managed to put on 2 pounds. I am trying not to feel too bad about it, but baking bread, cakes and three after-show parties are bound to take their toll. Well next week I am off work so I shall relax and enjoy myself. Well, when I say off work I mean - kind of. On Tuesday I have the GSA Student Showcase and on Wednesday the same, followed by a new play at The Stag. Thursday I have the Central School showcase followed by Company at the Union Theatre and dinner with Sean. Like I say, off work, kind of.

The Tease Show

I couldn't help but be impressed by the hoopla surrounding The Tease Show at Koko this week. Immodesty Blaize has come a long way since hoofing it down at the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club. When I first saw her, nearly four years ago, she had created an innovative and edgy, young mix of Burlesque and Cabaret. Each year she has just got better and better and this year’s show looked very promising – event theatre, if you will. In actual Immodesty Blaize appears to have given up. The show was formulaic, and most of the acts were good fun at least, except for the execrable Glitter Bandits, who were truly awful. Shockingly bad and quite frankly, I am not sure how they managed to get the gig. They didn’t fit in to the scheme of things at all. Marc Almond was a revelation and in fact, Blaize was the biggest let down of the lot. She did nothing new. Nothing I hadn’t seen before. Now that the format of her show has been sold to EMI perhaps we might as well call her McBlaize.

Hurrah!

I weighed in today at 16 stone 9 pounds. Which means that since I began my diet on February 7 2009 I have lost 1 stone - about a pound a week on average. I need to loose another 2 stone - in theory, but I am not sure how possible that is to maintain.

Shout!

As in ... "You know you make me wanna -" A new entry into the West End was quite fun, in the scheme of things. I went along in my new shirt - cheers Sean - and I finally fit into some nice trousers I bought about four years ago. I took Julie from work with me, as I thought she would appreciate the sentiment of the show and enjoy the show. In fact, it turned into a serious nostalgia-fest with a Press Night audience that seemed to consist of every fag-hag in London and her best gay friend.

The after show party was a laugh and Peter Bull, artistic director of Above The Stag Theatre was also one of the producers of this show so we had a natter. His fella, Phil, is in the picture with me, along with Michelle Collins.

Next week, it's Immodesty Blaize - zoikes!

Weight and Water

Just to bring readers up-to-date the diet I have been on - a combination of increased exercise and less eating (duh!) - has been working quite well. I started out with me weighing in at 17 stone and 9 pounds or 111.9kg. I am now 16 stone 10 pounds or 106.2kg over a period of 15 weeks. Not bad!

I now want to SERIOUSLY try to increase my water intake. Apparently, considering the amount of exercise I do, I should be intaking at least 4 litres of water. Mmmmm..seems a lot to me.

Eeeek

It's been nearly a month since my last update!
